Hello lovely players!

For reasons that should be obvious, we are proposing turning this game into a sandbox rather than endgame or completely shut it down or let someone else give modding here a go. This would mean a number of changes:

- No apps (though you can request to join the comms with characters you'd like to play in this setting and fill out the usual forms)

- No activity check

- Events will get posted as we come up with them and have the spoons to do them (we'd still love to do things at some point but life keeps getting in the way)

Sorry for the radio silence! We didn't end up sweeping anyone for not commenting to February AC. For March, we're more looking to see who's still interested in sticking around so please chime in on the Permanent AC Post in the next few days.

Also if anyone is interested in helping write up events and give suggestions on quests, that would be great! Feel free to comment here or PM the mod journal.

Hello everyone who has stuck with us!

Just dropping a note to remind everyone that January AC is as normal, and to please get your replies in by midnight January 31st (MST)! Even if it's just checking in to say you're still around.

That said, we're planning on a little anniversary event for February, so stay tuned!

Hello lovely players!

Quick update this time around.

Two characters were swept, Sam Winchester and Johanna Mason, bringing the total game populace to 13.

Activity for November and December, in accordance to the holidays, will be purely check in. So go out there and have some safe fun! Scary world out there but we got this.

I mentioned an event, right? Yep! It's still going on! The idea is for the event posted last month to go on through November. So if you haven't tagged into it yet, don't worry! There's plenty of time and no stress!

We're still working on getting set up for offering those quests and rewards, but the thought is for a bit of both mod-run quests (aimed to coincide with events), and player-run quests that can be offered up any time. So please continue to bear with us!

BG here with another post!

With some discussion, we've decided to open applications until the game reaches 30 characters, with them being reviewed on the weekends. Reserves are no longer a requirement, though exist as a show of interest and a placeholder while the app is prepared.

We're going to start fairly regular TDMs where characters already in game can top-level as a sort of event for that month. So that's in the works, as well as some write-ups for events.

In interest to drum up activity (and give more interesting things for everyone to play with!), we're going to implement bonus rewards and quest rewards coming up. Which leads us to a question for our lovely players:

What sorts of quests and rewards would you like to see? So far our thoughts involve enough coin to buy a mount, or house, or addition to existing house, an item from home is reclaimed (or in case of a pet, said pet shows up).

I've also seen some question about what AC will be like when it gets posted on Sept 1st. So the answer is simple - check in to say you're still interested in playing here and with who, check the player page to make sure your roster is accurate, and check your character tag is accurate. You do not need to submit a thread if you don't have one, August has been a strange month for most of us.

So we have a new mod team, yay! Head mod is Mageling, with two helper mods BG (who is to blame for typing this post up) and Cerie! We just wanted to let you all know what's going on behind the scenes with this change over.

We have a request or two from our lovely players though, and that's regarding Character Tags in the log comm. Please check your tag, make sure it's there and there are no errors (BG has done her best to give a look over and make edits but things get missed). There is now a handy dandy sticky on the Log comm for suggested format, mention of how character tags should appear, and a link to the Navigation Page.

So here's a tiny FAQ (but feel free to ask any other questions we haven't thought of here or PM)

Activity Check: It got missed so do we still need to check in before the 1st? Nope! Next AC will go up on the 1st as usual. No changes to what's required, so post what your character has been up to or tell us if you've not been able to tag at all.

Any Major Changes? Nope! New mod team, same friendly laid back game.

But...but what about events...? Can we have them? Yes! We have some awesome events planned and are in the process of writing up summaries and digging into details! AKA STAY TUNED! Fun stuff is ahead!

Hey all. I wish I was bringing you an easier announcement but unfortunately, that is not the case and I must let you all know that after 18 months, I am stepping down as the mod of this game.

My vision for Fernweh was a pretty clear one. I wanted to give players a setting that wasn’t widely available on Dreamwidth and offer some fun things to do in the form of plots and events. But, with the pandemic hitting the world shortly after opening our doors, the state of RP for a lot of people (including myself) suffered in many ways and overall traction was lost.

Since stepping down does put the future of Fernweh into question, I am willing to hand it over to anyone currently playing in the game who might want to inject some time and a little love to see it last longer. If you are interested, please send me a message on the mod contact page. I will leave this offer open until August 31st, in which case if there is no interest, the game will be closed permanently on September 1st.

Thank you all! I appreciate every single one of you who gave this little game a chance. I hope to cross paths with you again someday.

Hello all! This is BG bringing a new attempt at a second character, Wen Kexing from Word of Honor! For those who know the series that's just gotten put up on Netflix but has been around for a bit, he's from the epilogue, so has gorgeous white hair.

He's a martial artist who likes fans and is coming in with his soulmate/husband, Zhou Zishu. Fun fact! He can only eat snow and ice and will be looking for a cold place to stay until a new fix is found to keep them alive!

hey everyone! I'm Jessi, I might know a few of you from here and there! But I'm bringing Johanna Mason from the Hunger Games in. She's a little older (25), making her AU. Technically. After Mockingjay, she just goes home and stays to herself. So she's been alone for awhile.

Johanna is kind of a jerk, very brash and offensive. She likes books, axes, and trees. I know that's not a lot to go on if you're canon blind. Hit me up if you want to find out what's up over here.

JK here, player of Finnick Odair, bringing in a second character.

This here is Kassandra from Assassin's Creed Odyssey and she's here to add to your heroine quotient here in Gazin. For those who aren't canon-familiar, Kassandra is a professional mercenary who's questing her way around the Peloponnesian War looking to find somewhere to belong. She's also kind of a demigod and not quite sure how she feels about that. And shes' the granddaughter of King Leonidas of 300 fame.

She's here from a worldstate where she is the game's protagonist, and her choices have led her towards a very bad ending of the main plot. Build-wise, she's focused on hunter damage and tends towards bows and dual wielding. If you want more on her build/worldstate or any more on her in general, her app is up on her journal.

Looking forward to getting her into the mix here!
