SCENARIOS

01. Arrival
You have been sitting and staring at the sign above you for some time now, lost in a blur of swirling questions that seems to start with how you ended up there; in a place (and time, maybe) that you know you weren't an hour earlier. Or maybe you're an old hand at this by now and you've figured out that this is simply another stop that the multiverse bus has made. So why not get off and look around a little?

At any rate, the sign points you towards the direction of a place called "Gazin", which looks like a decent-sized town from where you stand. There has to be someone who can explain.

02. Around Town
So, you've settled in. Well, mostly. At least you know where things are without taking too many wrong turns and ending up in the less desirable areas of town. But now you can go about your day. Visit the market, check out the local shops or have a drink with a new friend at one of several inns.

03. Exploring
You've heard people talk about some pretty interesting places and now you're itching to get out and find them. Be careful though, there are creatures and monsters out there that will be pretty interested in meeting you and may wish to have you for its next meal. Better take someone along. And maybe some weapons, too. Make sure one is made of silver.

04. Monsters
So, you managed to find that location you were looking for. Good for you! Only.. it seems you've also found one of the native creatures to the area and you now face to face with it. Um. Good luck! We'll see you when you get back!

Hopefully.

05. Celebration
It won't take long for you to figure out that people of Gazin are, all in all, pretty happy people. It shows, too, when a seemingly quiet evening suddenly bursts into a random, impromptu party to celebrate whatever good fortune has touched a person. Name Days, good harvests, betrothals, weddings, or just life in general.

Sing, dance, drink and be happy, too!

06. Wild Card!
Want something else? Feel free to choose your own adventure or mix and match to create something completely different!

Jon Snow | Game of Thrones

[personal profile] king_inthenorth 2020-01-05 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
[Arrival]

This wasn't exactly what Jon had meant when he wished that he could be somewhere else -- he hadn't enjoyed being in the middle of a battle against a seemingly endless army of the dead, but he knew that he had to be. All of Westeros was depending on the outcome.

It had been a throwaway thought in the face of impossible odds, and then here he was, staring at a sign labeled "Gazin." He has never heard of such a place, but then, he's never been outside of Westeros. There must be a lot of places he's never heard of.

What a sight he must make -- sword drawn, his face and armor covered in dirt and sweat and even some blood. His immediate vicinity is deserted. There's no one to give him any answers, or any other indication of where he is or how he got here. There's only one thing for it. He sheathes his sword and heads in the direction indicated by the sign, in search of someone who can provide some answers. Or a stream to wash off the grime. He's not picky.

[Around town]

He's been here long enough to have discovered that in many ways, this place is similar to Westeros. Similar enough that it hadn't taken him long to get used to the place, anyway. He has also discovered that living as far North as he did in Westeros, he had missed out on things, like markets and taverns. Even the life he would have had without Robert Baratheon's meddling wouldn't have been of those sorts of things -- it would have been sheltered for different reasons. But here, freed from all of that, he can live the life he truly wants to live. Whatever that life is.

Right now he's enjoying that freedom and lack of responsibility by wandering through the town, going wherever his feet take him, before ending up in the tavern at the end of the day with a pint of mead. He's not relaxed enough however to go around unarmed; he's got a sword at his hip and a knife tucked into his belt.

Arrival

"Jon?" This wasn't how she had seen him last. They had made their goodbyes on the beach, she trying to swallow her emotions and thoughts, wishing him well and hoping he'd return from the Wall safely. That had been the end of it, save for the long conversation with Tyrion by the fire. No word from him, only suspicions of likely danger...and then she was here.

Seeing him covered with dirt and his sword drawn, it took her a moment to even place him. No furs, no confidence, only the lingering hints of battle that she knew all too well. Something had happened...not simply them being brought here, but he was obviously in the thick of something. There were so many questions, so many different emotions.

Instead, all she could seize upon was where they were (or rather where they weren't) and that overwhelming confusion.

"I don't know Gazin, do you?"

It startles him to hear her speak his name, because he hasn't gotten his bearings yet. He doesn't know where she was during the Battle for Winterfell, but he knows it wasn't right next to him.

He takes a moment to catch his breath. "I've never heard of it," he replies as he sheathes his sword. He doesn't need it now. "There's much of Westeros I haven't seen though, much less what's outside of it."

She is tempted to go to him, to look for signs of injuries or worse, but she holds back. Maintaining dignity had always been easier than fully expressing the emotions in her heart, especially with those closest to her. Instead, she searches him for those signs, silently asking him if he were well.

"It was on no maps that I had seen." Not that she knows Westeros expertly. The land had only been on maps for her before. "How did you come here? Do you know?" It didn't seem like an abduction for either of them but magic.

He seems to be uninjured. He's moving fine, not acting like he's in pain, and none of the blood seems to be his. He'll be sore for the next few days though; no amount of training can make him prepared for the actual rigor of battle.

He shakes his head. "No. I was at Winterfell and then I was here."

[personal profile] song_of_fire 2020-01-06 04:18 pm (UTC)(link)
"Winterfell?" From everything planned, it seemed as though he would be traveling to Eastwatch first and then travel through the Wall. Winterfell wasn't close enough for them to pay visit along the way. "Why were you at Winterfell? You were going beyond the Wall with Ser Jorah and your men to find proof for Cersei."

She didn't want to assume the worst, that something may have happened or worse word had come. After all Cersei had done in the past months to various Houses, it wouldn't be a surprise to know that she set her sights on Winterfell for retribution.
king_inthenorth: (in ur face)

[personal profile] king_inthenorth 2020-01-06 04:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"We found it." For all the good it had done them. It had been a gamble that he almost hadn't made it back from, but at least Cersei had been forced to admit that he was telling the truth. Now there's nothing to do but wait and see what that gamble got them.

"Winterfell is where we're fighting for the future of Westeros. It's the first place the wights would go on their journey south."

[personal profile] song_of_fire 2020-01-06 04:49 pm (UTC)(link)
"I don't understand. Why would you find the Wight and not return to Dragonstone or not send me word of this?" No news, even from Ser Jorah. It didn't seem right. Neither of them were men who would simply leave in the middle of something so important. If this war was everything Jon said, he wouldn't abandon this so lightly.

"We only just said goodbye before I was brought here."
king_inthenorth: (face to face)

[personal profile] king_inthenorth 2020-01-06 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
"That was weeks ago." He couldn't even say how many, at this point, or when weeks turned into months. So much has happened, and he can hardly separate one thing from another right now.

"We've been to Dragonstone and King's Landing since then."

So there's one thing they've discovered since arriving here. They've come here from different times.

She doesn't know what to respond to first, that he has memories she doesn't, what that might mean and that there was at least some success in their endeavors. Perhaps topping all of that is the knowledge that he is safe, he had come back from what could have easily been his suicide.

Gently, she placed a hand on his shoulder and squeezed, reassuring herself that he truly was here.

"You're safe?"

[personal profile] king_inthenorth 2020-01-08 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
He tenses at the touch but doesn't pull away. She's a familiar face in a strange place, and who knows what she meant by it, anyway. He's still running off of the adrenaline of battle besides.

He looks down at his dirty, blood-spattered armor. He's in one piece and uninjured, which is the best he can hope for most days. "At the moment."

There's no way to know how it all ends.

She can feel him tense and removes her hand, her thoughts masked as she turned away, starting to walk towards the only town that seemed to be nearby. "We need to keep walking." How was this any different than wandering the Red Waste? If she lingered too long without food or water, they wouldn't fare well through the night.

"It shouldn't be too far to Gazin."
king_inthenorth: (armor)

[personal profile] king_inthenorth 2020-01-09 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
Walking is good. Walking he can do. He knows they need to get to town, and to shelter. He doesn't see any immediate threats, but he has no idea what this place could be like once the sun goes down. Better to be among others when that happens.

"I wouldn't expect so. Why would there be a sign out here otherwise?"

Around Town

[personal profile] kissed_byfire 2020-01-06 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
There had been plenty of times when Ygritte could have died but didn't and once when she actually did. His face is the first thing the Wildling remembers when she comes to in the tall grass under the sign sticking out of the ground with the name of a place that isn't at all familiar to her. After sitting up and pulling away the leathers to see a healed mark on her skin where there was once an arrow, memories of the battle began to come back.

That was three days ago.

No one had been able to explain what had happened. None of the locations people told her were anywhere she had ever heard of. And any other question was simply shrugged at. So, Ygritte, now dressed in more common clothing to that of her surroundings, is meandering around the town, learning what she can and slowly getting used to people looking at her because her hair, now seemingly more red than ever, catches their attention.

But, in this case, it's her that notices Jon first and all she can do is stand there and stare.

He doesn't have eyes in the back of his head, but he doesn't have to to know that he's being stared at. Maybe it's instinct from so much time on the battlefield, or a survival tactic after being stabbed by his men. Or maybe it's some sort of connection that still exists between them.

He doesn't have his fur-trimmed cloak; he hadn't been wearing it when he arrived. Armor is not comfortable for everyday wear, so he's left that at home. He's wearing some clothes he got in town, and still has his sword at his waist.

And when he turns to see who's giving him the feeling of being stared at, all he can do is find himself staring in return at a face he'd never expected to see again.

The man didn't look the same as Ygritte remembers or he did but only enough for her to recognize his face. The way he turns, the look in his eyes when he finally notices her is the same as it was back at Castle Black. She didn't want it to be him and had to blink several times to make sure it was before forcing back the feelings of anger and resentment over betraying her. Then there was the grief of never knowing what could have been if he didn't.

Ygritte watches him, frozen where she is for a long moment before her feet beginning carrying her forward; his face looking much the same way as it did when her arrow was trained on him. She has no weapon now, no dagger or bow, both left behind at the Wall. Likely stolen.

Slowing to a stop some feet away, the Wildling stares into his eyes.

"Why do you look so different?" she asks slowly, her accent still as thick as it was back then. Jon's answer will tell her with certainty whether it's really him or simply someone who looks exactly like him.

He hasn't paid much attention to his own appearance over the years; mirrors and other reflective surfaces are scarce at Castle Black, and he never felt a need to pay much attention to it otherwise. It was enough to know that he looks like a Stark. But it's not a surprise to him to hear that his appearance has changed over the years.

Hers hasn't, of course. She looks like she did the last time he saw her, and clearly she hasn't been able to move on from it like he has.

"It's been..." Even before he says it, he knows it's not a good explanation. "Much has happened since Castle Black."

For her, it's only been days. For her, the pain in her chest is still there, even despite the wound completely healed. That's magic she can't explain and no one else seems to be able to either. Him? Ygritte remembers the bird attacking him the day Jon betrayed her and the rest of the Wildlings and the scar it left behind. But his face is older, hair longer even though it's pulled back. His eyes look tired.

So many feelings sweep through her, words that somehow seem like a dream now still echo through her head.

You're mine, as I am yours. If we die, we die. But first, we'll live.

In an effort to chase the words away, Ygritte looks down, brow pinching deeply to try and chase back the intense desire to strike him for all that he's done to her and the Free Folk. Yet, he seems to want to tell her something. Or maybe that's her own fool's wish. Maybe he wants to hurt her again.

"Yeah, I guess there would be," she answers, nodding. "You were right, weren't ya. We lost, just like you said we would. An' after that? You go back to your castles an' your towers?"

[personal profile] king_inthenorth 2020-01-15 04:33 am (UTC)(link)
Just because he had done those things doesn't mean they had been easy. It had been a simple plan at first, get some information the Watch could use in their defense of Castle Black, or even confirm that an attack was coming, or (which had been too much to hope for) find a way to stop the attack before it happened. That had been the plan. He hadn't counted on her upending it like she did. Even as he wanted to stay, he knew he couldn't.

"It took a bigger army than yours to defeat Castle Black." He'd come here from the midst of dealing with that threat, and he'll be on edge until he knows what came of it.

"The castles and the towers aren't the same anymore."
