Merlan has made some housing on her Forge, turning it into a little settlement, if folks are interested. I have a map below of her current land by a tributary and river. She never sleeps anymore, so she's been taking it out on wood and spells and generally trying to not build an arsenal of swords and pointy things. So! Houses.

 
The houses themselves are small two story buildings with enough room for two or three people. The upstairs is basically a loft but she's made a contraption in each where the bedding area folds down from the ceiling so there's more room during the day. As you can see from the map, they all have pretty decent views! They also have spelled places in the kitchen which will keep food from spoiling, yes there are toilets that flush and a system that refines the sewage through a magically aided system that drains back into the river having purified and dissolved any waste. TMI? Probably. But, like I said, she's bored and inventive and this is what you get.

At some point during the wee early morning hours on December 15th, snow begins to fall and when all of Gazin wakes in the morning, it's more than obvious that Winter has finally arrived. With it comes the start of the town's annual festivities that lead into Yuletide, which then continues through to the end of the month. Here is what your character can look forward to!


Bonfires, Brew, and Polar Bear Plunges

Every evening, outside the town limits of Gazin a bonfire roars. All are encouraged to take in its warmth and take in the abundance of food, ale, games and good company. Games include snowball fights, snow castle building and jumping into the icy pond on the north side. Whoever can stand the chilly waters will be given the coveted title of Lord or Lady of Ice and Snow. Not bad a title to have in this time of shivery.


Feasts, Gift Giving

Every other night at the inn offers a giant feast consisting of several roasted and/or smoked meats, mince and humble pies, carrots, beets, and cabbage, fresh and dried fruits, bread and nuts. There is never a shortage.

As well, during the entire month, gift-giving is quite popular among the citizens of Gazin. They are generally small but given as tokens of friendship to anyone and everyone. Tradition usually is if you receive a gift, you must find someone to give a gift to in turn.


Hot Springs

Several spots in and around Gazin and Vasari forest have natural hot springs that can be visited at any time, day or night.

Absolutely! The ones listed off here are just to get you started. If there is something else you'd like to do, feel free! The point is to make this fun!

* How much snow is going to fall throughout the month?
The initial snowfall will be somewhere in the range of 8-10 inches (25-30cm) over a 3 day period. After that, it will be a sprinkling here and there until the last week in December when the temperatures will drop to severe cold. We're talking -13°F/-18°F (-25°C/-28°C).
